What to expect

James Cowan, Clinical Hypnotherapist says:

“I employ a Client-Centered approach which means that we will develop a therapy plan or strategy together. The outcome of the initial session will determine our future progress.

During our preliminary talk I will determine how I can best assist you in your quest for change. A case history will be conducted and you will be encouraged to ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have regarding hypnotherapy.

This is a crucial aspect of the process as it serves to build genuine trust and understanding between us as therapist and client. You need to feel absolutely comfortable and assured to gain maximum benefit from the session.

A full explanation of hypnosis will be provided and goals for therapy will be discussed and agreed.

Once achieved, we will have about a 45 minute hypnotherapy session that will leave you feeling energetic and elevated.

I will then tailor a therapy session to suit your particular requirements and objectives and will spend time creating scripts and strategies that will lead us to a successful outcome.

In the course of the therapy you may be taught self hypnosis as part of a number of therapeutic homework tasks.

Some clients experience an immediate behavioural shift; others favour a more long-term approach. For some conditions, short-term therapy is appropriate whereas in other cases follow-up sessions can reinforce the shift and best ensure long lasting effects.

Most people find that each therapy session significantly improves their mood and energy levels.

If you share a goal with a friend or family member, group sessions can also be arranged by appointment.”
